DAY 11 | The LORD Will Provide

Abraham named that place Adonai Yireh (The LORD Will Provide). It is still said today, “On the mountain of Yahweh it will be provided.”

PRAYER

You are the LORD, my Provider, and I exalt You. You are a loving Father who provides abundantly according to the riches of Your glory in Christ Jesus.

Thank You for caringly supplying all my needs. I must thank You also for what I don't have, so I may learn to depend on You even more.

Forgive me for spending even a moment worrying, for not counting my blessings, but focusing on what I lack. Forgive me for being ungrateful and entitled.

Train my heart to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, and anchor my life on Your unfailing promises. Let me be an answer to someone's prayer; stir my heart to give generously what You have graciously given me.

Because You are the LORD Who Provides, I declare I will steep my life in Your abundance and Your faithfulness.

A few facts…

  • God provided a ram for Abraham to sacrifice instead of his son Isaac. Abraham named that place Adonai Yireh (יְהוָה יִרְאֶה). (Genesis 22:1-19)

  • Adonai Yireh (יְהוָה יִרְאֶה) is generally translated as "The LORD Will Provide", with a few translations rendering it as "The LORD Sees". Adonai Yireh, Yahweh Yireh, and Jehovah Jireh all convey the same meaning.

  • Yireh (יִרְאֶה) comes from the root lirot (לִרְאוֹת) which means “to see,” or “to foresee.” The same root is used to describe someone who can see things others cannot, e.g. a seer or a prophet. Adonai Yireh is literally, The Lord Who Sees, or The Lord Who Will See To It.

  • While some commentators do not consider Adonai Yireh a specific name of God, being our provider is undeniably a significant attribute of God that should not be omitted from this series.

  • There is a widespread belief that Mount Moriah, where God provided the ram, and Golgotha, where God provided Jesus as the sacrificial lamb, could be in the same location.

SMILE & BREATHE

In your quiet space, sit up straight. If possible, do some stretching exercises. Relax your neck, shoulders, and jaw.

Smile, for God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)

Take a deep breath slowly, filling your belly with air. Imagine in His kingdom, there is no concept of "lack".

Hold your breath for a few seconds, thanking Him in advance for preparing and supplying all your needs.

Slowly exhale from your mouth, taking longer than inhaling, releasing your current worries, lack, and feelings of insecurity to Him.

Repeat these steps as needed.

Exercise 1:

TWO-WAY JOURNALING

Two-way journaling offers a precious opportunity to declutter our minds, attune to the divine, and realign ourselves with the presence of God. It can be a deeply therapeutic experience. In today's session, we will direct our words towards The LORD Who Will Provide. Take a moment to patiently wait and attentively listen to Him, allowing His wisdom to illuminate your current circumstances. Together, let us seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit through prayer.

[Part 1]

Dear Father / The LORD Who Provides, …

[Part 2]

Dear child / (your name), …

  • • recount and celebrate His loving provision in the ordinary and in the miraculous.

    • address your unmet desires or needs before Him. May it be your finance, a job or ministry position, a listener, a life partner, a child, a solution, a healing miracle, etc.

Check out APPENDIX 2 for more.

Exercise 2:

DECLARATION

The purpose of this exercise is to help you become accustomed to viewing your life from God's perspective. Adonai Yireh is the One who sees ahead of you and provides for you. How does this connect to your current situation? Please be specific. A faith-filled declaration can reshape your thinking, gradually aligning "your perceived reality" with "God's reality."

Because You are the LORD Who Provides for me, I declare I can / I will / I am…

Speak your declaration aloud, declaring it over your life. If it evokes chills and excitement, it's working within you! Repeat it throughout the day and before sleep, and place it somewhere visible as a reminder.

Day 11 of HE has come to a close. My prayer is that you receive the anointing of Abraham's faith and obedience. These qualities will not only grant you access to His divine providence, but will also bring blessings to the lives of countless others.

PRAYER

I praise You for You alone are Holy. All the angels praise You day and night, repeating "Holy, Holy, Holy." Your holiness permeates everything You touch.

I am grateful for the cross of Jesus which allows me to stand before Your throne unashamed. Thank You for setting me apart as Your holy nation.

Forgive me for sinning against You, unintentionally or deliberately. Forgive me for adopting worldly standards, becoming insensitive to the weightiness of sins, and being unaware of the ways I have offended You.

Reveal to me the grandeur of Your holiness, do not let it drive me away, but instead draw me into Your presence so that I can be sanctified. Grant me the joy of pursuing the Holy One.

Because You are Holy, I declare I am set apart, made holy, and blameless before You. I can walk in holiness.

A few facts…

  • Ha-El Hakkadosh (הָאֵל הַקָּדוֹשׁ) is translated in English Bible as "The Holy God" or "God the Holy One”.

  • The term Ha-El Hakkadosh finds its roots in the Hebrew kadosh or qadowsh (קָדוֹשׁ), meaning "cut" or "set apart." Holiness signifies being severed, set apart, or distinguished from everything else.

  • God is holy. It means that He is “set apart” from His creation in purity and power.

  • We are holy. It means that we have been “set apart” by God's grace for His honorable purpose.

SMILE & BREATHE

Find a quiet place. If necessary, use earplugs and music to block out noise. Sit up straight, relax your neck and shoulders.

Smile, for you do not belong to this world; you are holy, chosen, and set apart by Him.

Inhale deeply through your nose, filling your lungs with air. Imagine yourself in His presence, surrounded by His holy glory.

Hold your breath for a few seconds, focusing on His holiness. He is absolutely flawless and perfect, and nothing can tarnish Him; indeed, He is incomparable.

Exhale slightly longer than your inhale, slowly releasing all the air. Let go of any feelings of guilt or shame you may face, and give them all to Him.

Repeat these steps as needed to help you relax and prepare for the next section.

Exercise 1:

TWO-WAY JOURNALING

Many of us get so preoccupied and absorbed in the details of life. If left unchecked, we may crowd Him out of our busy lives. Today, we choose to make space and time to interact with Him; it will certainly bring joy and satisfaction to Him and to ourselves.

In the form of a letter, write to the Holy God in your journal. Let’s pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and see if there is anything He wants to bring to your attention today. Take time to listen to His response, He certainly wants you to understand His heart. Pen down your dialogue with Him.

[Part 1]

Dear Father / the Holy God, …

[Part 2]

Dear child / (your name), …

  • • tell Him what you think of His Holiness

    • if it is His holiness that makes you feel uneasy, ashamed or intimidated, take this opportunity to talk to Him about it

    • if you’ve been struggling to be holy in His or others’ eyes, you may write about these struggles

    • ask Him what specific purpose He has set you apart for

check out APPENDIX 2 for more.

Exercise 2:

DECLARATION

He is the Holy God. God is transcendentally set apart from His creation. He is in a class by Himself. How does His holiness impact the way you live? Write a personalized declaration.

Because You are the Holy God, I declare I can / I will / I am…

Speak your declaration aloud to Him and yourself, for it solidifies the truth in your heart. Repeat it a few times, engaging not only your facial muscles and vocal cords but also your faith as you declare. Never underestimate the power of your words, as your declarations have the potential to shape your new reality.

Day 10 of HE concludes, marking one-third of our journey. Today I earnestly pray that you'll always remember that your holiness stems from the One to whom you belong.

MUSIC

PRAYER

My Lord, my Master, I praise You. All authority in heaven and on earth submits to Your lordship. You rule over everything.

Thank You for the privilege to serve the One who has the absolute power to orchestrate the entire universe.

Forgive me for serving You on my terms, not Yours, for serving You reluctantly, half-heartedly, or with impure motives.

Come take Your throne and reign in my life. Make me Your humble and loyal servant. I want to serve You alone with all that You have graciously entrusted me with: my time, my wealth, my strengths, and my weaknesses. I consecrate everything to You for Your divine purpose; I submit myself to what is important to You.

Because You are my Lord, I declare I refuse to serve other masters. I am Your faithful servant, and I choose to obey You fully and immediately.

A few facts…

  • Adonai (אֲדֹנָי) carries the meaning of "my Lord" or "my Lord Master," emphasizing God's sovereignty over humanity.

  • In Judaism, due to the sacred and mysterious nature of the name Yahweh, direct invocation is prohibited, and "Adonai" is used instead.

  • In the Bible, lord, Lord, and LORD hold distinct connotations:

    • all lowercase "lord" (אֲדוֹן, Adon) signifies a human figure with authority over others.

    • first letter capitalized "Lord" (אֲדֹנָי, Adonai) refers specifically to God, acknowledging His sovereignty over humanity.

    • all uppercase "LORD" (יהוה, Yahweh) corresponds to the personal Hebrew name of God, Yahweh (or Jehovah, a Latinized version of Yahweh).

SMILE & BREATHE

Find a quiet place where you can sit undisturbed in a comfortable position, allowing yourself to calm down.

Smile, for one day, every knee will bow, every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord, in heaven, on earth, and under the earth.

Take a deep breath through your nose, focusing on Jesus, who humbled Himself and died on the cross.

Hold your breath for a moment, recognizing that because of this obedience, the Father exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name above every name.

Slowly exhale through your mouth, taking a bit longer than your inhale, releasing to Him anything you are unwilling or unable to surrender to God.

Exercise 1:

TWO-WAY JOURNALING

I confess that during my prayers and moments of worship, I frequently address Him as "Lord," without fully comprehending the depth of its significance and the immense authority it carries. If you can relate to this, then today's journaling presents the perfect opportunity to reconsider and surrender yourself once again to His Lordship.

In the form of a letter, write to your Lord. Posture your heart to hear Him, take the time to listen, and pen down His response. Allow your thoughts and words to flow onto the pages of your journal without concern for grammar or spelling conventions, or the pressure to adhere to logic and formality. This space offers you the freedom to express your true self.

[Part 1]

Dear Lord

[Part 2]

Dear (your name), …

  • • ask Him what you do that brings Him the most joy

    • ask Him how He wants you to serve Him

    • talk to Him about your joy or struggles in serving or surrendering to Him

    • ask Him if there is a specific thing or area that He wants you to surrender to Him

Check out APPENDIX 2 for more.

Exercise 2:

DECLARATION

How does the truth that "He is Lord" shape your present lifestyle? Write a declaration that resonates with your personal journey. Keep it simple and concise.

Because You are my Lord, I declare I can / I will / I am…

Speak this declaration aloud, addressing it to the Lord and to yourself. Repeat it with conviction and assurance. Verbalizing the words creates a stronger impact than merely contemplating them internally. Allow these words to permeate your heart and transform them into your new reality.

As we conclude Day 9 of our journey, my prayer is that you be granted a profound comprehension and heightened consciousness of His Lordship. May you surrender yourself to Him in unprecedented ways, exploring new depths of devotion.

MUSIC

PRAYER

The Living God, I praise You. You transcend the realm of lifeless statues and fictional characters, and You are not confined to any particular religion or doctrine. You exist as the Living God, fully alive and authentically real.

Thank You for actively engaging in my everyday life. You breathed life into me. You rejoice over me with singing. You walk with me. You answer my prayers. You mould and shape me. You fight my battles for me.

Forgive me, for I am frequently the one who is distant and unresponsive to You, while You desire continual interaction and fellowship with me.

Empower me to be a living testament of Your existence in a world where people think You are “dead” or indifferent. Enlighten those who remain oblivious to Your divine presence.

Because You are the Living God, I declare everything comes alive in Your vibrant presence, and I offer myself to You as a living sacrifice.

A few facts…

  • Elohim Chayim (אֱלֹהִים חַיִּים) is commonly translated as "The Living God". However, some Hebrew Bible scholars argue that "God of Life" is a more accurate translation.

  • Elohim means "God," and it is the plural form used in Hebrew to express the singular name of God. Chayim means "living" or "life." Although Elohim and Chayim are both plural words, they should not be understood as plural solely because of this.

  • The notion of Elohim Chayim sets Him apart from all other deities or idols crafted from materials like wood or iron. It emphasizes the divine essence associated with vitality and existence.

SMILE & BREATHE

No matter how you're feeling right now, may I invite you to smile with me?

Smile, for our God is 100% truly alive!

Take a deep breath, inhaling into your abdomen through your nose. Focus on this breath, for each breath comes from the Living God.

Hold your breath for a few seconds, acknowledging that He is at work in your life, whether you see it or feel it, or not.

Slowly exhale through your mouth, taking a bit longer than your inhale. As you exhale, release to God those areas of your life that seem lacking vitality or life.

Exercise 1:

TWO-WAY JOURNALING

Engaging in the practice of a two-way journal is a way to recognize and affirm the presence of God as the "Living" God. It serves as an act of faith, demonstrating our belief that He is actively present and involved in our lives.

Open a new page in your journal and direct your written words to the Living God. Quiet your heart and mind, allowing yourself to listen attentively to His promptings, and then record the insights and messages you receive in your spirit. Let's invite the Holy Spirit into this sacred space, allowing His gentle guidance to lead you into a profound and meaningful conversation.

[Part 1]

Dear Father / The Living God

[Part 2]

Dear child / (your name), …

  • • describe what “the Living God” means to you

    • recount a time when you totally felt that “Wow! God is so real and alive!”

    • ask Him to breathe new life into a specific situation

    • if you are in a season where He seems silent, inactive, or unresponsive, tell Him about it, bare your heart to Him, and ask Him questions that have been puzzling you

Check out APPENDIX 2 for more.

Exercise 2:

DECLARATION

The Living God is undeniably real, alive, and actively present. How does this reality impact your present lifestyle? Pen down your personalized declaration now.

Because You are The Living God, I declare I can / I will / I am…

Recite these words aloud, unhurriedly and with assurance. Declare them as if they are already unfolding in your life, and let the resulting delight and contentment invigorate your faith. Your faith-filled declaration not only brings delight to Him but also serves as the catalyst for a much-needed breakthrough.

As Day 8 of HE concludes, I sincerely appreciate your presence. My prayer today is for the Living God to breathe life into your seemingly hopeless situations, difficult relationships, and broken dreams.

PRAYER

I praise You, my Wonderful Counselor. As the heavens soar high above the earth, Your ways surpass my ways.

Thank You for showing me that Jesus is the only way to the Father and for guiding me every step of the way. You are all-knowing and all-loving, and You always have my best interest at heart.

Forgive me for my self-reliance; I tend to lean on my limited understanding, perception, knowledge, and ability. Forgive me for making decisions without seeking or involving You.

Reveal to me how much I need Your divine counsel and guidance in all areas of my life. Grant me a child-like heart that places complete trust in You. When I veer off course, gently bring me back with Your loving hand.

Because You are my Wonderful Counselor, I declare as I acknowledge You and I seek You, You will illuminate my path.

A few facts…

  • The Hebrew word Pele (פֶּלֶא) defies human explanation. It is exclusively used in the Bible to describe God's deeds and words, never attributing it to human works.

  • Pele Yo'etz (פֶּלֶא יוֹעֵץ) is often translated as "Wonderful Counselor/Counsellor," but it can also be translated as "Wonderful Advisor" (Contemporary English Version) or "Extraordinary Strategist" (New English Translation).

  • Pele Yo'etz is a component of Jesus' fourfold prophetic name (Isaiah 9:6).

SMILE & BREATHE

Sit in a quiet place, relax your neck, shoulders, and jaw, and gently stretch.

Smile, for He guides you with loving eyes (Psalm 32:8).

Gently inhale through your nose, imagining yourself breathing in His abundant wisdom, filling your abdomen.

Hold your breath briefly, praising His thoughts that are always higher than ours.

Slowly exhale through your mouth, slightly longer than your inhale, releasing any confusion, disorderly feelings, and uncertainties to Him.

Exercise 1:

TWO-WAY JOURNALING

When I need to seek God's guidance, two-way journaling is my preferred tool. It helps me navigate my inner world, untangle my thoughts, and uncover hidden feelings in His presence. It opens me up to listen to God, tap into His wise counsel, and shed light on my path.

Today, let's write to our Wonderful Counselor. It’s a perfect opportunity to acknowledge His guidance and seek His direction. Invite the Holy Spirit to guide you. Listen to His response and write it down.

[Part 1]

Dear Father, Wonderful Counselor

[Part 2]

Dear child / (your name), …

  • • process a specific situation or issue before Him, ask for His advice, map out a plan together with Him

    • recount an event in your life in which you had (or had not) sought His counsel, discuss with Him

    • reflect on your habit of seeking His counsel

Check out APPENDIX 2 for more.

Exercise 2:

DECLARATION

Knowledge acquires facts, while wisdom integrates them into life's tapestry. We know that He is the Wonderful Counselor, but how does this truth relate to the way you live today? Write your declaration. Make it personal and meaningful, so that it gives you chills every time you say it.

Because You are my Wonderful Counselor, I declare I can / I will / I am…

Repeat this declaration until its essence seeps into your very being. Harness the transformative power it holds, for your faith delights and moves God's heart in unimaginable ways. Consider displaying your declaration where you can see it daily, a constant reminder of your truth.

We have reached the end of Day 7 of HE, and I sincerely appreciate your presence. Today, my prayer is that you wholeheartedly embrace and find immense joy in God's counsel, recognizing His hand in shaping every aspect of your life for a divine purpose.

PRAYER

My Shalom, I adore You, for You are the peace that transcends all understanding, the peace that our troubled world ardently seeks.

Thank You, Jesus, for Your selfless sacrifice, bringing forth shalom to humanity. Without You, true peace remains elusive and unattainable. Thank You for calming every storm in me.

Forgive me for allowing fears and worries to infiltrate my heart, weakening my spirit and sometimes rendering me immobile.

Holy Spirit, come upon me, so I can fully receive and tangibly experience shalom in every dimension. Empower me to carry and radiate this peace wherever I journey. Grant me the strength to restore peace within my family, community, city, country, and the world I inhabit.

Because You are my Shalom, I declare that the same peace that Jesus experienced while on earth resides within me, reigning over my heart. No circumstance can snatch it away from me.

A few facts…

  • Shalom (שָׁלוֹם), the Hebrew word for peace, encompasses various meanings: completion, fulfillment, perfection, harmony with oneself and others, well-being, safety, universal flourishing, wholeness, and delight.

  • Adonai Shalom (יְהוָה שָׁלוֹם) is one of three names for God that were associated with altars in the Bible. The other two names are Yahweh-Yireh (The LORD Will Provide), mentioned in Genesis 22:14, and Yahweh-Nissi (The LORD is My Banner), mentioned in Exodus 17:15.

  • When the angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon, commissioning him as a new judge to deliver the Israelites from the Midianites, Gideon feared for his life. However, the angel reassured him, saying, 'Peace! Do not be afraid. You will not die!' This encounter profoundly impacted Gideon, leading him to construct an altar named Adonai Shalom (The LORD is Peace)."

Smile & Breathe

Find a quiet place or use headphones and music to block out noise. Sit quietly, relax your shoulders, neck, and jaw.

Smile, for your inner peace is not dependent on your external environment.

Inhale through your nose, focusing on the word “Shalom”, deeply filling yourself with peace.

When your lungs are full, pause for a moment, holding your breath. Sincerely thank Him for the harmony and tranquility He has given your body, mind, and soul.

Then slowly and gently exhale through your mouth, releasing to Him any inner unrest and turmoil.

If needed, repeat these steps to prepare yourself for the next section.

Exercise 1:

TWO-WAY JOURNALING

Today, we are reaching out to THE LORD is Peace. Let us invite the Holy Spirit to gracefully guide us into an intimate conversation. Open your heart wide and permit the Spirit to navigate the depths of your inner world. Be attentive to His words and document the exchange in your journal.

Dear child / (your name), …

  • • recount a time when you experienced His peace

    • tell Him what or who is stealing your peace

    • ask Him how to reclaim your inner peace

Exercise 2:

DECLARATION

He Himself is peace, and He is the ultimate source of peace. How does this relate to your current situation? Take a moment to write a personalized declaration in your journal. You can begin like this:

Because You are The LORD is Peace / My peace, I declare I can / I will / I am…

Read it aloud multiple times, declaring it over yourself. This practice activates and revitalizes our faith. Experience the transformative power of aligning with God's perspective on your situation.

Day 6 of HE has come to an end, and I want to express my gratitude for your presence. My prayer is that the One who once stilled the tempest with a commanding "Peace! Be Still" will also bring tranquility to the turbulent storms in your life. He is always in full control.

I’ll leave you with one of my favorite quotes by Bill Johnson. “Peace is not the absence of SOMETHING, it is the presence of SOMEONE.”

MUSIC

PRAYER

Jesus, my Savior, I offer You my utmost praise, recognizing that salvation can be found in no one else but in Your mighty name.

I am deeply grateful for Your redemptive plan, which encompasses Your sacrificial love, mercy, patience, and grace. Through it, You have set me free from sins and eternal punishment.

Forgive me when I fail to appreciate the magnitude of Your salvation. Although it is freely given, it came at an immeasurable cost. You, Jesus, paid a price that no one else could bear.

Holy Spirit, please remind me continually of the incredible privilege it is to be saved by Your grace. Open my eyes to the desperate need for Your salvation in the world, and ignite my heart with a desire to take action and share Your love with those who are lost.

Because You are my Salvation, I declare I am saved by grace through faith. I am unconditionally loved. I am forgiven. I am truly free.

A few facts…

  • According to widespread belief, Yeshua (יֵשׁוּעַ) is the Hebrew name for Jesus, meaning salvation. It is a shortened form of Yehoshua (יְהוֹשׁוּעַ), which is commonly translated as Joshua. Yehoshua is composed of Yahweh (יהוה) and the verb Yasha (יָשַׁע), meaning "Yahweh saves" or "Yahweh is salvation."

  • The pronunciation of Yeshua is not very similar to Jesus because it has undergone multiple stages of transliteration evolution, with the specific process as follows:

    • [Hebrew/Aramaic] Ye-sh-ua (Yay-shoo-ah)

    • [Greek] Iesous (ee-ay-sous)

    • [Latin] Ie-s-us (ee-ay-sous)

    • [English] Je-s-us (gee-sus)

  • In Biblical Hebrew, a name held more significance than merely being a unique identifier. It reflected the individual's calling, purpose, or destiny.

SMILE & BREATHE

In a quiet place, sit upright, relax your shoulders, neck, and jaw.

Smile, for from the beginning, He chose you to be saved. (2 Thessalonians 2:13)

Take a deep breath, contemplating how the Father sent a baby to rescue all who were trapped in sin.

Hold your breath for a few seconds, sincerely thanking Jesus, your Saviour.

Exhale slowly through your mouth, releasing any feelings of helplessness or despair from your heart.

Exercise 1:

TWO-WAY JOURNALING

Whether you are planning to pour out your heart in writing or simply jotting down your random thoughts to Him, I see His delight in you. He cherishes and values the moments you devote to being alone with Him.

Today we are writing to Salvation/Jesus, your Savior. Take a moment to be still, and allow His voice to resonate within you as you pen down His response. Let us welcome the Holy Spirit, our divine guide, to lead you into a heartfelt conversation.

[Part 1]

Dear Jesus, my Salvation, my Savior …

[Part 2]

Dear (your name), …

  • • ask Him why He chose to save you, and how He felt the moment you accepted Jesus

    • ask Him how He wants you to respond to this gift of salvation

    • ask God how He wants you to share faith with someone specific

check out APPENDIX 2 for more

Exercise 2:

DECLARATION

He is Jesus, your Salvation, and you are saved. How does this precious gift of salvation impact the way you live your life today? In your journal write down your own declaration:

Because You are Salvation/Jesus, I declare I can / I will / I am…

Speak your declaration aloud, offering it to Him and allowing the resonance of these words to awaken your soul. Repeat them a few times, allowing their power to permeate your being.

This completes Day 5 of HE. Today, I pray that you will always be aware of what salvation means to you and to Him. This awareness will inspire you to a life-long, loving response to Him.

Immanu El, I exalt You, for You are with us forever. I marvel at the way You stooped down from heaven to dwell among Your people.

Thank You for removing the barrier between God and man and for the enormous comfort Your name "Immanu El" has brought me. Your passionate desire and relentless pursuit of me exceed my comprehension and redefine my worth.

Forgive me when there are times that I do not value Your presence; I may even try to keep You at a distance.

Search my heart, break the power of all the shame, the fear, the pride, and the lies, that keep me away from You. I earnestly ask You to help me experience Your presence more deeply and intimately.

Because You are Immanu El, I declare I am never really alone. Your indwelling presence brings me the fullness of joy.

A few facts…

  • Immanu El (עִמָּנוּ אֵל) is a masculine personal name in Hebrew, meaning "God with us," or "God is with us."

  • The name can be transliterated as Immanuel or Emmanuel. Immanuel is a transliteration of the original Hebrew word Immanu El, while Emmanuel is a transliteration of the Greek Emmanouel (Ἐμμανουήλ).

  • Immanu El appears three times in the Bible: Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 8:8 (also cited in Matthew 1:23), and Isaiah 8:10.

  • The prophecy of Immanu El in the Book of Isaiah finds its fulfillment in the birth of Jesus (approximately 700 years later).

SMILE & BREATHE

Find a tranquil space to be alone with Him. Eliminate any potential distractions and settle into a comfortable, relaxed position.

Smile, for He is right beside you, within you, and will never leave you.

Gently inhale through your nose, imagining yourself breathing in His warm and loving presence.

Feel your abdomen expand, hold your breath for a few seconds, His presence deeply satisfies you, and you just want to remain in it.

Exhale gently through your mouth, taking longer than the inhale, slowly releasing any feelings of loneliness, abandonment, or rejection from within you.

Exercise 1:

TWO-WAY JOURNALING

I can binge-watch sermons all day, or study God's word in depth, or even be busy serving Him like Martha in the Bible, but nothing can replace a heart-to-heart conversation with Him.

Today, let us direct our writing to Immanu El (God with Us). What would you like to tell Him who is always with you? Allow time to listen for His response, documenting it as we go. Remember, there are various creative and artistic ways to journal - writing is just one form of self-expression. Your journal could look like this:

[Part 1]

Dear Immanu El, …

[Part 2]

Dear child / (your name), …

  • If you’ve drawn a blank, here are a few prompts for you:

    • Describe to Him what “God with Us” means to you. Ask Him what being with you means to Him.

    • How does His presence make a difference in your life?

    • Recall a time when you really needed but didn’t feel His presence. Write your heart out and ask Him where He was and what He was thinking of your situation. Allow Him to reframe your situation with you.

Check out Appendix 2 for more.

Exercise 2:

DECLARATION

Crafting a declaration involves being purposeful about your beliefs. How does the concept of Immanu El (God with Us) impact your present way of living? Take a moment to write your declaration of the day in your journal:

Because You are Immanu El, You are with me, I declare I can / I will / I am…

Read your declaration aloud and repeat it frequently. Allow your heart to align with your words. This intentional practice helps you to eradicate negative self-talk and emotions, and to actively create new realities alongside God.

Tips: For added reinforcement, consider reciting your declaration in the morning, throughout the day, and before bed. Additionally, displaying your declaration somewhere prominent can serve as a helpful reminder.

This completes Day 4 of HE. May God reveal the significance of "Immanu El" to you and enable you to live a life that reflects its essence. May you feel His presence with you always, and may His love and grace guide you on your journey.

PRAYER

God Almighty, I praise You! There is nothing too difficult for You, and nothing in this world can diminish Your mighty power.

Thank You that through Christ, I have access to You, the All-Sufficient One. In You, there is inexhaustible love, wisdom, power, and kingdom resources. You are enough for me.

Forgive me when I do not even think of relying on You. Forgive me for my unbelief and my self-sufficiency.

May I never forget how much I need You in my life. Please grant me the grace to recognize and accept my limits. Let me gladly boast in my weaknesses, in which Your power is made perfect. Fill me with the joy of partnering with You.

Because You are the God Almighty, I declare my total dependence on You, and I will see Your mighty hand in my daily life.

A few facts…

  • El Shaddai (אֵל שַׁדַּי) is commonly translated as "God Almighty”. However, its meaning is subject to some controversy. The meaning of El undoubtedly refers to God, while Shaddai has several possible origins. For example, in Hebrew, shad (שַׁד) means "breast," implying nourishment, provision, and support; śadé refers to "the (uncultivated) field"; shadad (שדד) means "destroyer" or "overpowerer"; and in Akkadian, Šadu means "mountain." Therefore, El Shaddai may also convey meanings such as The All-Sufficient One, God the Overpowerer, God of the Mountains, and so on.

  • The first mention of El Shaddai is in Genesis 17:1-2 when God told Abram that He would make a covenant with him, and Abram, who was 99 years old, would have descendants.

  • The book of Job prominently uses the name Shaddai more than any other book in the Bible.

Exercise 1:

TWO-WAY JOURNALING

Writing a two-way journal is connecting and interacting with Him. Today, we write to the God Almighty. Be still, listen, and let the monologue become a dialogue. Record this conversation in your journal, inviting the Holy Spirit to guide you towards a beautiful encounter with Him.

[Part 1]

Dear Father / God Almighty, …

[Part 2]

Dear child / (your name), …

  • You are greatly encouraged to write your journal freely, but if you need journal prompts to you get started, here are a few (check out APPENDIX 2 for more):

    • Recall an instance in your life when He revealed His mighty power. Describe to Him your thoughts and feelings about it.

    • Talk to Him about a situation you find difficult or impossible to handle. Process your struggles before Him. Seek His advice.

    • Ask Him how He would like you to grow your faith in His power.

Exercise 2:

DECLARATION

How does the omnipotence of God impact your way of living? Take a moment to reflect and write your own personal declaration. You can draw upon His promises or make it relevant to your current situation.

Because You are God Almighty, I declare I can / I will / I am…

Speak these words aloud, letting their sound resonate within you. Repeat them, allowing your heart to align with His truth and your eyes to perceive God's reality. This practice shatters limiting beliefs, enabling you to step into His abundance.

This concludes Day 3 of HE. Today, I pray that you will humbly acknowledge your limitations and weaknesses, and wholeheartedly surrender yourself to God Almighty. His power will rest upon you, just as He faithfully promised.

PRAYER

I am in awe of You for Your absolute, unchanging, infinite, and eternal existence. You are never bound by time or space. You are the LORD, who is and who was and who is to come. You are self-existent and ever-present.

All I am is a mere breath, and my days are a fleeting shadow. Please accept my heartfelt thanks for loving and caring for me.

Forgive me for my spiritual short-sightedness, as I tend to focus on temporal things.

Grant me wisdom to live my life, for all the earthly pleasures and treasures people strive so hard for will ultimately be meaningless.

Because You are the Great I AM, I declare that I am created to live with an eternal perspective, and I believe in Your perfect timing. I refuse to be anxious, angry, or upset about temporal matters.

A few facts…

  • Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh (אֶהְיֶה אֲשֶׁר אֶהְיֶה) is God's self-given and personal name that He revealed to Moses at the burning bush on Mount Horeb.

  • Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh is also translated as "I AM WHO I AM”, "I will be what I will be”, "I AM”, "the Great I AM”, "I will become what I choose to become”, "I will be what I will be”, "I create what I create” or "I am the Existing One."

  • Ehyeh (אֶהְיֶה) represents the first person of Yahweh. Yahweh signifies the biblical pronunciation of YHWH (also known as the tetragrammaton).

  • It denotes the self-existing, self-sustaining, self-sufficient, infinite God who was, is, and will be.

SMILE & BREATHE

Find a quiet and comfortable space to sit down, relax your neck and shoulders.

Smile, for your past, present, and future are all in His loving hands.

Inhale gently through your nose, allowing the air to fill your lower abdomen. Praise Him who is eternal, never bound by time.

Hold your breath for a few seconds, praising Him who is omnipresent, never constrained by space.

Exhale slowly, reflecting that everything on Earth is temporary and finite.

Exercise 1:

TWO-WAY JOURNALING

Today, you will be writing to I AM THAT I AM — the eternal and omnipotent being who transcends time and possesses absolute control over the past, present, and future. What would you like to tell or ask Him? Take a moment to listen attentively to His response and diligently document it.

[Part 1]

Dear Father, I AM THAT I AM, (The Great I AM) …

[Part 2]

Dear child / (your name), …

  • • Write to Him about your past, present, or future. Ask Him what He thinks of it.

    • Describe your own “burning bush experience”, or a remarkable encounter with Him (note: you may also write about not having such an experience)

    • Write about how you would live differently if you maintain an eternal perspective.

*check out APPENDIX 2 for more

Exercise 2:

DECLARATION

How does God's self-existent, ever-present, and omnipresent nature relate to the way you live today? Write your personal declaration now.

Because You are I AM THAT I AM, I declare I can / I will / I am…

Repeat your declaration aloud several times. Speak it to God and to yourself, deliberately and confidently. Allow the words to penetrate your heart and fortify your faith.

Thank you for joining me on Day 2 of HE. Today, my prayer is for you to gain a deeper understanding of His powerful name, 'I AM THAT I AM,' so you can truly grasp the perspective of your time on earth."

PRAYER

God, the Creator, I praise You for loving mankind so dearly that You created a stunningly beautiful universe for us to inhabit. You provided abundant resources to delight and to sustain us. You spoke every atom and every cell into existence. You uniquely form every star, every flower, every bird, and every person.

Thank You for the incredible gift of creativity. You are the ultimate source of all creative ideas.

Forgive me for putting limits on You, forgetting You created everything from nothing.

Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and infuse me with Your imagination. Release me from my limiting thoughts so I can boldly walk into endless possibilities!

Because You are God the Creator, I declare I am created to be creative. I can, and I will respond to every challenge and problem with God-breathed solutions from Heaven.

A few facts…

  • Elohim (אֱלֹהִים) is a Hebrew term meaning "God." It is the plural form of El (אֱלוֹהַּ) or Eloah (אֵל) (both of which we will encounter again in this journey). However, in Hebrew grammar, it is sometimes used to denote respect or reverence, rather than necessarily indicating a true plural.

  • Elohim appears in Genesis 1:1, describing Him as the creator of the heavens and the earth. The term Elohim does not directly translate to "God the Creator," but is widely used to refer to the Creator and ruler of the universe. Therefore, we have chosen this title of God, which first appears in the entire Bible, to begin this journey, focusing on Him as the Creator.

  • Elohim is a generic title that can refer to the true God, idols, or even other spiritual beings.

SMILE & BREATHE

Many of us are moving through life at break-neck speed; it is time to rest in His presence. Find a quiet place to sit down, gently rotate and relax your shoulders and neck.

No matter how you feel at this moment, may I ask you to smile with me?

Smile, for you and this world are His beautiful creations, and He sees them as good.

Inhale through your nose, effortlessly drawing the breath into your abdomen. Contemplate how the universe, from nothingness to everything, comes from His love for us.

Hold your breath for a few seconds, focusing on His unique creativity and His infinite imagination.

Exhale slowly through your mouth, releasing any dissatisfaction, frustration, or emptiness in your heart to Him.

Repeat as needed, preparing yourself for the next section.

EXERCISE 1:

TWO-WAY JOURNALING

Prepare your journal, whether it's a physical notebook or an electronic file, isn't the most important thing. The most important thing is to prepare your heart to meet Him. This exercise has two parts:

[PART 1] In the form of a letter, write to God (the Creator).

[PART 2] Spend time listening to His response and record it in your journal.

Tips: Just let your words flow, and be as truthful as you can be. Don’t criticize or correct your writing as you journal (you can review it later on). I pray that the Holy Spirit will guide you to a delightful conversation. It could look something like this:

[Part 1]

Dear God, the Creator, …

[Part 2]

Dear child / (your name), …

  • You are encouraged to write without using journal prompts, especially if you have written two-way journal before. However, If you’ve drawn a blank, consider:

    • praise Him for the things that He created

    • describe to Him the things that you personally find awe-inspiring, it can be a stunning view you have seen, an innovative idea or invention, etc.

    • have you lost your wonder when you think about His creation? Dig deeper into your heart to find out why

    • write about your struggles with coming up with creative ideas and solutions

For more journal prompts, check out APPENDIX 2.

EXERCISE 2:

DECLARATION

The beliefs we choose to adopt shape the trajectory of our lives. It is crucial to protect our thoughts diligently. In this section, we devote our time to nourishing our minds with statements that are rooted in faith and are pleasing to God. By doing so, we can reframe our perspectives and empower ourselves to live in accordance with His truth.

How does God’s creative nature relate to the way you live? Write your own declaration. It’s your statement of faith. Keep it positive, simple and relevant to you. You can personalize it to the point that it speaks to your most current situation. You can begin your declaration like this:

Because You are God, the Creator, I declare I can / I will / I am…

Read it aloud. Read it a couple of times with certainty. Let it penetrate your soul. By doing this, you are training yourself to see and step into God’s reality.

This completes Day 1 of HE; what a delightful beginning of our journey! Today, I pray that He will create new things in you, with you, and through you.
